Healing Reaction

 A healing reaction is sometimes experienced during the purification process, the effectiveness of antimicrobial therapy can often be judged by its ability to trigger the Herxheimer reaction. This is caused by the waste material of a large number of microbes being killed suddenly. This can include inflammations which increase blood and nutrient supply to an area but are essential for the immune system to work and for healing of damaged organs and tissues to occur.

The Herxheimer Reaction (die-off reaction) is a short-term (from days to a few weeks) detoxification reaction in the body. As the body detoxifies, it is not uncommon to experience flu-like symptoms including headache, joint and muscle pain, body aches, sore throat, general malaise, sweating, chills, nausea or other symptoms.

This is a normal — and even healthy — reaction to the toxins that are released when large numbers of parasites, fungus, viruses, bacteria or other pathogens are being effectively killed off and the body does not eliminate the toxins quickly enough. 

The important thing to note is that worsening symptoms do not indicate failure of the treatment in question; in fact, usually just the opposite. The biggest problem with the Herxheimer Reaction is that people stop taking the supplement or medication that is causing the reaction, and thus discontinue the very treatment that is helping to make them better. Although the experience may not make you feel particularly good, the Herxheimer Reaction is actually a sign that healing is taking place.

This reaction was first described by an Austrian dermatologist Jarisch Adolf Herxheimer working in Vienna and Innsbruck in 1895 and shortly after this, confirmed by his brother Karl Herxheimer(1902 and 1926). Both doctors were dermatologists mainly treating syphilitic lesions of the skin. They noticed that in response to treatment, many patients developed not only fever, perspiration, night sweats, nausea and vomiting, but their skin lesions became larger and more inflamed before settling down and healing. Interestingly, they found that those who had the most extreme reactions healed the best and fastest. The patient might be ill for 2-3 days, but then their lesions resolved.

If the immune system is not strong enough to eliminate invading microbes and diseased body cells, originally healing immune inflammations become destructive chronic inflammations—symptomatic of our present epidemic of chronic diseases. Oxidants support the immune system by killing microbes outright and by giving the immune system more firepower. This results in increased inflammation and body acidity when using strong oxidants such as E7.

Therefore, as during any real health improvement, various healing reactions including temporary inflammations, fatigue, chills, diarrhoea, muscle and joint pains, and other flu-like symptoms for several hours may develop during E7 purification treatment. These are beneficial for healing in the long term, even if uncomfortable in the short term. Your body is simply expelling heavy toxins which have built up in your within your body over time.

Antioxidants have the opposite role to oxidants. They protect our body cells and functions from being oxidised. Oxidation needs to take place only in well established and protected pathways to generate energy or to eliminate invaders and harmful agents. If we step up the intake of oxidants, we also need to increase the intake of antioxidants otherwise we may get unnecessary inflammations due to irritation of tissues and other degenerative changes.

E7 kills the malaria parasite by oxidising its vital antioxidants, including glutathione, alpha-lipoic acid and coenzyme A. The malaria parasite is being killed by disabling its glutathione and other essential antioxidants, those same glutathione and antioxidant systems in our body need to supplement with a high antioxidant supplement. 

In the case of cardiovascular diseases and arteriosclerosis, it has been suggested that, with E7 therapy, cholesterol deposits may be removed too quickly and lead to a weakening of the affected blood vessels.
